Vidisha Srivastava Shares Homemade Yoga Props Ahead of International Yoga Day

As the world gears up to celebrate International Day of Yoga on June 21, actress Vidisha Srivastava has unveiled her creative approach to enhancing her yoga practice with homemade props.

Best known for her role as Anita Bhabi in the popular sitcom ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai’, Vidisha Srivastava highlighted the practicality and benefits of using everyday household items to enrich her yoga sessions. She revealed her innovative techniques, including using walls for balance and repurposing plastic wires into jump ropes and yoga straps.

In discussing her DIY (do-it-yourself) props, Vidisha emphasized the importance of maintaining both physical and mental well-being. “Maintaining a stretched body and a calm mind is essential for focused action. My yoga practice and homemade props have been invaluable in achieving this calmness,” she shared. “I utilize walls for balance in standing poses and for deepening stretches whenever needed.”

She further explained, “I’ve transformed unused plastic wires into jump ropes, which I use for cardio and as yoga straps for stretching and flexibility. Additionally, filled water bottles serve as weights or yoga blocks to support various poses.”

Encouraging others to explore similar approaches, Vidisha expressed her enthusiasm for yoga’s transformative power. “Let’s roll out our mats and invest in ourselves — after all, a healthy body means a healthy mind,” she concluded.

‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai’, where Vidisha Srivastava entertains audiences with her character Anita Bhabi, airs on &TV.

International Yoga Day, recognized globally on June 21, promotes the practice of yoga for holistic health and well-being.
