Hoy Maharaja Marathi Movie Review

There are different types of comedy movies for e.g. farcical comedy, action comedy, satirical comedy, dramatic comedy (Dada Kondke's entertaining films were of this type), musical comedy (even if you remember the old film 'Padosan', you will laugh), laugh-out-loud comedies (Mehmood's 'Kunwara Bap' ), action comedy ('Hera Pheri' a great spicy entertainer) etc. Likewise another type of comedy is thriller comedy. For e.g movies like 'Dhoom Dhadaka', 'De Danadan', 'Thartharat', 'Pachadlela' directed by Mahesh Kothare and starring Laxmikant Berde. The Marathi film 'Hoy Maharaja', which has been released across the state since Friday, is also a crime comedy in the same vein. The film has been in the news since its announcement for various reasons. Movie buffs are very curious to see exactly what will be seen in this catchy titled movie.

A pair of maternal relatives,uncle and nephew (Abhijit Chavan and Prathamesh Parab) find themselves in debt of a local gangster (Sandeep Pathak). Together, the trio steal expensive items from wealthy homes, replacing the originals with fakes and getting rich. From the chawl, they move to a luxurious building and eventually get involved in crime. Somehow they get trapped in the clutches of Anna (Vaibhav Mangle) and he now rules over them and makes them dance to his tune. Thus the thrill and fun ensues which is this 142 minute fun comedy caper movie. If you don't ask any questions like how, why, where, when, you can enjoy this movie. The screenplay has some interesting twists and focus is maintained for the entertainment of the audience. The film's heroine (Ankitaa Lande) thinks that the hero (Prathamesh Parab) is mute and sympathizes with him. She befriends him but gets angry when she realizes that he is not mute and has been lying about it. Eventually he apologizes and she forgives him. Soon the film moves ahead from crime and fun.

LMS Films Pvt. Ltd. has produced the movie and it is directed by Shailesh L. S. Shetty. 

Care has been taken that the film does not slack or dip. The film's story, screenplay and dialogues are written by Sanchit Bedre. The main character of Ramesh, played by Prathamesh Parab grabs our attention. He goes for a job interview in a suit and his street smartness gives us an idea about his character. Prathamesh Parab playd his role with utmost sincerity and his comic timing is perfect. The uncle has a lot of faith in his nephew and he believes that one day his nephew will scale great heights. The character of Uncle/Mama is played by Abhijit Chavan. Abhijit Chavan's vast experience is reflected in his work. 

Ramesh (Prathamesh Parab) is immersed in the world of dreams when he suddenly meets Ayesha (Ankitaa Lande) and thus 'unusual love and laugh story' moves forward. Ankitaa Lande has won the best new star award at the state film festival for her role in the film 'Girls' and in this film too she is very easy going and looks great on screen. It is certain that Ankitaa will take a big leap among the newcomers in Marathi. She needs to get big mounted projects for that. She is very hardworking and focused. Sandeep Pathak's as Bhai, Sameer Chowghule as ruthless Boss and Vaibhav Mangle as Anna will make people laugh and take them on a hilarious joy ride. 

This full too dhamaal movie has been released on 31st May across Maharashtra. The chemistry of the pair in this film is sure to impress the audience. Marathi film buffs are eager to see them together. Prathamesh Parab has over the years created a good fan base and this film should benefit from it. 

Well known fight master of Hindi cinema Moses Fernandes is the action director and Santosh Phutane has done the art direction. Vasudeo Rane is the cinematographer and Nilesh Navnath Gawand has edited the movie. Guru Thakur has penned the lyrics and composer Chinar Mahesh has composed the music. Background music is by Ameya Nare, Sajan Patel while choreography is by Phulwa Khamkar. Costumes are done by Janhvi Sawant Surve. The publicity of this film has been very good. Due to the teaser, then the trailer and also the coverage received from various media, the film has reached the audience well. This is a good enjoyable entertainer and a nice time pass movie
