Actress Tara Sutaria recently shared a heartfelt reflection on her experience recording her debut Hindi song, ‘Shaamat’, for the upcoming action thriller film ‘Ek Villain Returns’. Known for her extensive background in western classical and pop singing spanning two decades, Tara revealed the complexities she faced in adapting her vocal technique and style to suit her character's persona.

In an Instagram post adorned with behind-the-scenes snapshots from the song’s filming, Tara reminisced about the journey. “A little over two years ago, I recorded my first Hindi song #SHAAMAT, which has now garnered 93 MILLION views,” she wrote, acknowledging the song's widespread acclaim. Playing a singer in the film, Tara found it challenging to merge her trained musical background with the demands of Hindi cinema.

“As a trained western classical and pop singer for the last 20 years, it was quite tough to navigate my technique and sound to fit and suit my character’s,” Tara shared candidly. She emphasized the contrasting demands of English and Hindi music, noting the significant differences in training, vocalization, and musical expression.

Despite the initial hurdles, Tara expressed gratitude for the opportunity and the overwhelming response to ‘Shaamat’. “In retrospect, I’m grateful for taking this leap and overwhelmed by the love the song has received,” she added, extending her appreciation to director Mohit Suri, co-stars Arjun Kapoor, and the talented musicians Ankit Tiwari and Badshah for their collaboration.
