Surbhi Jyoti Shares Insights on Bond with Co-star Zayn Ibad Khan in ‘Gunaah’

Actress Surbhi Jyoti, known for her versatile roles in television and web series, has opened up about her experience working alongside co-star Zayn Ibad Khan in the recent web series ‘Gunaah’. Portraying the character Tara in the series, alongside Gashmeer Mahajani, Surbhi reflected on the camaraderie among the cast, the challenges of her role, and the dynamics on set.

In an exclusive interview with VOICE, Surbhi Jyoti revealed the bond she shared with Zayn Ibad Khan, emphasizing their mutual admiration for the popular American sitcom ‘Friends’. Despite not sharing scenes with Gashmeer Mahajani, who plays a crucial role alongside her in the series, Surbhi praised both actors for their professionalism and warm demeanor. "Zayn and I instantly connected over our love for ‘Friends’. He's a wonderful co-star," she shared, adding, "Gashmeer brought a vibrant energy to the set once he opened up."

When asked about her preparation for the role of Tara, Surbhi explained the rigorous script readings and the complexity of understanding her character's psyche. "Tara is a multi-layered character, and each scene required careful consideration of her emotions and motivations," she said. Surbhi clarified that while there was no physical training involved, the mental preparation to delve into Tara's mindset was intense.

Reflecting on memorable moments from the shoot, Surbhi recounted the challenges of portraying Tara in different timelines. "The series explores Tara's journey through ‘past’ and ‘present’ timelines, each offering unique interactions and relationships," she explained. Surbhi admitted that embodying Tara sometimes led to internal conflicts between herself and the character. "As an actress, I had to immerse myself fully into Tara's world, which was both demanding and rewarding," she added.
